And if you are a US government employee or work with the federal government, you'll want to steer clear of Kaspersky internet security products - and perhaps use one of the antivirus software products mentioned here instead. In the end, even though no one has ever publicly produced a "smoking gun" linking the company to Russian intrigue, we think any of the options listed above is a safer bet. In Kaspersky's favor, it continues to earn top scores and awards for virus and malware detection and endpoint protection from independent testing labs. Kaspersky Lab maintains that no public evidence of any wrongdoing has been presented by the US government, and that the US government's actions against Kaspersky Lab were unconstitutional." In a statement sent to CNET, the company said, "Kaspersky Lab has no ties to any government, and the company has never, nor will ever, engage in cyber offensive activities. But as with China-based Huawei, the question remains: If the federal government doesn't think the products are safe enough for its own devices, should consumers avoid them as well? Notably, the ban does not apply to its consumer products such as Kaspersky Total Security and Kaspersky Anti-Virus. But in 2017 the US government prohibited Kaspersky security cloud software on federal government computers because of alleged ties between Kaspersky and the Russian government. In the meantime, we'd recommend using one of the many other solid choices in this realm (listed above).īecause the company has been in the news the past few years, let's talk about Kaspersky Lab - specifically about the federal ban that blocks US government agencies from using Kaspersky Antivirus products.īased in Moscow, Kaspersky Lab has for years produced some of the best antivirus software for business antivirus needs and home customers. (The CCleaner revelations, while concerning, were self-disclosed, which is important to building user trust.) We hope Avast's more privacy-friendly policies mean that there will be no further Jumpshot-style activities and that it returns to glory as one of the best antivirus software options. Those reports followed another in 2019 from Avast that its internal network was breached, possibly to insert malware into its CCleaner software, similar to an earlier CCleaner hack that occurred prior to Avast's acquiring the Windows utility.Īvast started saying the right things about taking its customers' privacy seriously, but it only came to that point after reacting to investigative reporting that revealed the Jumpshot practices. To address that, Avast terminated Jumpshot data collection in January 2020 and closed its operations because the data collection business wasn't in line with Avast's privacy priorities. In response to the reports that his company gathered and sold the details of its customers' online activities, Avast CEO Ondrej Vlcek said in a statement that he understood that his company's actions raised questions of trust in his company. But Avast was in the news for several months for its non-antivirus business, so we looked at the company, specifically reports at the end of 2019 that Avast allegedly collected user data with its browser plug-ins and antivirus software and then sold data it collected through its Jumpshot subsidiary in early 2020. And we've included its antivirus in our list of recommended security app options before. Test after test, Avast Antivirus for Windows performs well for malware detection with options ranging from Avast free antivirus software to Avast Premium Security. Be sure to check the terms of the subscription plan before you buy, so you won't get an unwelcome surprise when your subscription renews. After the first billing period - typically a year or two, depending on the plan you purchase - the amount you pay for the service may increase substantially (sometimes double the introductory rate). Note: Pricing for antivirus services can be complicated, since providers frequently offer low introductory prices to entice you to sign up for their services. Windows-targeted malware has a larger base of devices to infect, giving it more potential in the eyes of cybercriminals, so all our antivirus picks work on Windows. Windows devices make up three out of every four laptop or desktop operating systems, according to the latest data from Statcounter. That's why it's important to invest in good antivirus software. It's essential to regularly check your computer's health to save yourself from headaches in the future, whether they be from scammers or your computer just not working as it should. No matter the price of a computer, the best PCs are susceptible to viruses and malware.

Rhino like dinosaur9/23/2023 Instead, different horned dinosaurs, duckbills, tyrannosaurs, and raptors lived in different parts of the continent.Īs paleontologists have moved from well-known hunting grounds into more poorly known territories, new species have emerged. As paleontologists collect new skeletons and restudy old fossils, they have found that the same species did not live everywhere. The discovery is part of a wave of new dinosaur discoveries that has emerged from North America in recent years. They were major members of Late Cretaceous ecosystems in North America, and were preyed on by tyrannosaurs.Ĭomparing features of Sierraceratops with other known ceratopsid dinosaurs helped the research team trace its evolutionary relationships to other horned dinosaurs. Horned dinosaurs were large, rhino-like herbivores that likely lived in groups or herds. Sierraceratops is related to but predates its relative Triceratops by some 6 million years. Like other ceratopsids, it was a quadrupedal plant eater. Sierraceratops had a large skull, about 5 feet long, and its overall length was about 15 feet. Key features that distinguish Sierraceratops from other horned dinosaurs are its short but massive brow horns, and the anatomy of the dinosaur’s frill bones. It turned out to be a new species, unrelated to dinosaurs previously discovered from the northern part of the continent. Over twenty years later, NMMNHS paleontology student Sebastian Dalman re-examined the skeleton, along with colleagues Spencer Lucas, Steve Jasinski, and Nick Longrich. The fossils of the new species, which included parts of the skull and skeleton from one individual, were found in Late Cretaceous rocks of the Hall Lake Formation near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.Ī partial skeleton was dug up in the late 1990s and were originally identified as belonging to Torosaurus. The research team, led by New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (NMMNHS) and including Dr Nick Longrich at the University of Bath, published their findings in the journal Cretaceous Research. The species name turneri honours Ted Turner, founder of the Cable News Network (CNN), who owns the ranch where the fossil was discovered and permitted its collection by paleontologists and volunteers. Sierraceratops, refers to Sierra County, New Mexico, where the fossil was discovered, and to the group of which the species is a part, Ceratopsidae. Its discovery hints that many dinosaurs still remain to be discovered in North America. The new dinosaur, Sierraceratops turneri, lived in New Mexico about 72 million years ago. (Credit: New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science)Ī fossil found over twenty years ago on the ranch of CNN founder Ted Turner has been discovered to be a new species of horned dinosaur (ceratopsid) not previously found in North America. Sierraceratops predates its relative Triceratops, and measured around 15 feet in length.

Inkscape cricut9/23/2023 I used the SEARCH box to try & find other posts about this, and think I found one or two. but what I don't know, is how to make them match. I've got a "process" that has been working (go to the width box, enter the width listed in Inkscape, then tab to the X & Y boxes and enter 0.5 in both of them, so my image comes up to the top left corner), but when I have a pretty detailed image, WHOA NELLY, it takes a long time to load!!! I understand that there's a difference with the way each software "defines an inch" and how many pixels should be counted within an inch - or something. But the BIG issue is, when importing my images into Design Space, the image ends up being something ridiculous like 450 in x 512 in, and is placed somewhere around Timbuktu on the canvas. Now, my Documents Properties box pops up waaaaay off to the right side of the screen, and I can usually barely click on it to drag it into view. I attempted to follow a couple different YouTube videos for changing the main template in Inkscape to fix the image scaling issue between Inkscape & the Cricut Design Space software. 75% of the time, it usually ends up working out in my favor. Where I get myself into the biggest messes is, attempting to follow instructions from someone who is intending them for someone with a bit more experience than I have. I consider myself fairly geeky & would say I'm pretty tech-savvy. That said, I feel pretty confident about where I am (for now, anyway) with regards to what I really use it for. 15% via YouTube videos, 85% accidental find during trial & error button pushing. Super brief intro about me - I am 100% self-taught on Inkscape.

Dude perfect9/23/2023 We recommend interesting sports viewing and streaming opportunities. How to watch the Masters | ESPN+ | Paramount+ | Golf Channel free on Fubo TV. Albeit some people don’t think it’s what should be done I think it’s a great thing for guys that have never seen the game of golf and to bring to the Masters into a different, positive light.” “They are awesome guys, and I’m glad we were able to show the game of golf in a different light. “We had a bunch of fun,” DeChambeau added. The 11-minute video voiced by Jim Nantz of CBS Sports already has more than 6.3 million views and 270,000 likes in its first four days. How can I be part of it with just one hand?’ They are like, ‘Well, it’s just going to be your right hand, besides baseball.’ ” And ultimately, they said, ‘We are going to be doing all different sports.’ I was like, ‘OK, that’s really cool, different. “They are like, ‘Well, we are going to be at Augusta and heard you were going to be at Augusta.’ I was like, ‘How did they find that out?’ I was not going to go because of my hand. In recent years the club has instituted the Drive, Chip & Putt, Augusta National Women’s Amateur as well as amateur competitions in the Asian-Pacific region and Latin America.ĭeChambeau detailed during his pre-tournament press conference how about three weeks ago he was planning to play a practice round at Augusta National and received an Instagram message from Dude Perfect. It was the latest effort by Augusta National to “grow the game,” and attempt to attract a younger audience to the sport. I think that as times are changing with a new generation coming about, I think it’s awesome that Dude Perfect was allowed to be out here and we were able to do that, to showcase a different side to the game of golf.” “It was really part of our continuing effort to be relevant to different age groups. They had the utmost respect and reverence for Augusta National,” Ridley said. 1, these are very upstanding young men who it was obvious to me in some discussions, some third-party discussions of people who had been dealing with them and things they actually said on video. Once Ridley learned more about the group and their concept, he didn’t need much convincing. “If you would have asked me what are the chances that you all would ever film an all-sports battle at Augusta National, I’d have said zero, but here we are,” he said. And I think that’s a pretty cool attribute of what Augusta is doing now, and I see it changing in a very cool way for a younger audience, new generation.”ĭude Perfect’s Tyler Toney echoed DeChambeau’s sentiment. Asked how surprised he was that the club signed off on this venture, DeChambeau said, “Everybody was. Joining the Dude Perfect boys was none other than 2020 U.S. Ridley may be a little too old to be familiar with the former Texas A&M college roommates who perform sports videos and have amassed 57.3 million subscribers on YouTube, but the club greenlit the sixsome to play the club’s famed Amen Corner (holes 11-13) in an All-Sports Battle using everything from frisbees, baseball bats, tennis racquets, hockey sticks and pool cues to get a ball into the hole. “My first reaction was, who are these guys?” said Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley. – Dude Perfect at Augusta National Golf Club? Gold lame bikinis9/23/2023 There’s Donald Trump, seen as the proud possessor of a fancy car, a private jet and a beautiful young wife also heavy with child. Here’s Demi Moore in her controversial Vanity Fair cover, naked, extremely pregnant and protected by an imposing diamond ring. The show, of course, has numerous portraits that jump off the wall with characteristic Leibovitzian flair - a heady mix of intimacy and posturing, elaborated, like paintings of saints, by recognizable attributes. The New York Times described the photograph in the following way: This photograph was also included in an exhibition of Annie Leibovitz's work that appeared at the Brooklyn Museum in 2006. Hanging organizers are the ideal solution for keeping things tidy while also easy to reach. Writer Allison Wignall is someone who likes to keep her kitchen gear readily accessible, not stored away in cluttered cabinets. Heavy-duty racks can hold pots and pans on shelves or from hanging hooks, leaving your countertops and cabinets free for other storage needs. You can also invert lids to nestle inside the pot or pan and try stacking items. So how do you organize them efficiently? Some cookware sets are designed to nest inside each other to maximize space. Pots and pans are big, bulky, heavy, and plain annoying to store. How do you organize kitchen pots and pans? Over-the-door hanging shelves or pouches. Here are some of the most common types of hanging kitchen organizers: Luckily there are a variety of hanging kitchen organizers out there so you can find one that fits with your space. What are the different kinds of hanging kitchen organizers? There are options for hanging extra storage below shelves or cabinets, hanging large sheets of pockets over pantry doors, and even adding bonus drawers to your fridge. Hanging organizers in particular utilize vertical space. Organizers can help further, not only by keeping things neat, but also by adding extra storage space. For example, you could store all your cooking utensils in one drawer or all dinnerware in one cabinet. Instead of just tossing things into any available space, organize your kitchen by dedicating specific spots for specific items. To cut down on clutter, organization is key. Everything you need has to go somewhere, right? But with only so much counter and shelf space, items can pile up quickly. Smaller kitchens can sometimes feel cluttered. Keep measurements in mind to avoid annoying returns.įAQs How do you organize a small kitchen? Over-the-door hangers could require plenty of height. Under-the-shelf organizers may not fit thicker shelves, for example. If you’ve got your eye on a particular organizer, check out its dimensions and measure where you want it in your kitchen. “Measure twice, cut once” is advice that works for more than just carpentry and crafts. Others are meant for lightweight items and shouldn’t be loaded up with more than a few pounds. Some can bear impressive amounts, able to handle several heavy pots and pans, and then some. Before you make a purchase, read up on how much weight the organizer can hold. Ask yourself what you want to store and purchase an organizer with the according capacity.Įven organizers have a weight limit. Some are great for holding larger items such as saucepans or cast-iron skillets, while others are too small and are better suited for spice bottles or flat kitchen towels. Since these organizers come in many shapes and sizes, their holding capacity will also vary. Find which one works for you, whether it’s in terms of size, effort, or permanence. Other hangers fit over doors, some are mounted to the wall or ceiling, and still others use simple hooks and magnets. Some organizers simply slip onto a shelf but may not fit thicker shelves. Hanging organizers come in a variety of styles, and not all types may work for you or your kitchen. What to Look for in Hanging Kitchen Organizers Hanging Style

Largest exporter of christmas trees9/23/2023 Christmas trees produced in Quebec are sent across the world to decorate households in countries such as Panama, Bermuda, Barbados, Curaçao, Aruba and the United Arab Emirates.ġ Reference : 2020 balance sheet provided b the ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ). The United States of America (U.S.) is the largest importer of Québec grown christmas trees: 98% of trees grown in Quebec are exported to the U.S., mainly on the east coast to New York, Massachusetts and North Carolina. According to statistics gathered in 2020, Quebec exported 1 771 944 trees for a total value of 56,2 million dollars, representing 71% of the value for all Canadian Christmas tree exports, 14% less than in 2019 (2 053 111 trees).įurthermore, in 2020 the number of trees sold within Canada is estimated at 800 000 trees, this generated a profit of roughly 16 million dollars in the province of Quebec. Combined, these businesses cover a total of 8 538 hectares and 51% of that land is located in the Eastern townships. In 2020, 266 Christmas tree farms were registered with the MAPAQ (ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec). Wu has already been asked by foreign clients to lower her prices. The province of Quebec is the main producer of Christmas trees in Canada, Quebec accounts for over 71% of all exported Christmas trees. "Some people think the devaluation of the yuan is good news for labor-intensive exporters like us, but our clients respond quickly to the currency change," she said. With numbers like these, it is hardly surprising that Wu Yijia, general manager of Yiwu Qijia Garment Co, fails to share Zhu's optimism Last month, China's exports dropped 8.9 percent from the same period a year earlier, according to the General Administration of Customs. Her upbeat mood follows the decision by the People's Bank of China, or central bank, to depreciate the yuan against the US dollar on Aug 11 to combat falling exports and slowing growth. But at least we are getting some good news now." The maritime province is the second largest exporter of Christmas trees. "Sales dropped 25 percent in the first half, compared with the same period in 2014. One province looking to further benefit from the Christmas tree industry is Nova Scotia. So far, Zhu has added two extra orders, worth around 100,000 yuan ($15,625), and has more pending. But since the yuan has depreciated, there are opportunities to increase sales." "Some clients came up with prices that were between 1 percent and 2 percent lower than we could accept. "The external economic markets have not been stable in recent years," she said. In 2022, China was the leading exporting country of Christmas decorations globally, with exports of such articles amounting to over 9.7 billion U.S. But now that the yuan has fallen by about 2 percent against the United States dollar, Zhu has been quick to exploit the business opportunities. With a total export value of 10.9 billion in 2021, China’s Christmas industry dwarfs those of second and third ranked Cambodia and the Netherlands. The Christmas tree manufacturing sector has become labor-intensive and profit margins are around 5 percent. "We would usually finish receiving orders from foreign clients by the end of July, but due to devaluation of the yuan, I'm hoping to persuade clients I turned down before because of costs to put in orders," she said. But this year, August has been an incredibly busy month. Normally, she wraps up her overseas sales by July. Zhu Zhixiang sells artificial Christmas trees in Yiwu, Zhejiang province.
